The requirement for multiple crude oil receivers on pipelines has become common practice in recent years. This has been due to either more frequent or smaller batch sizes as well as the increased accuracy of having dedicated product or customer receivers. These systems often have electrically or pneumatically operated tank selection valves that can be operated remotely or from a central computer. This eliminates the need to drain and prepare a single receiver for each batch. The features on the tanks and circulating systems on these units are the same found on popular CMC-500 series systems. These features, along with the selection capabilities on multiple tank skids increase sampling accuracy while decreasing manpower required to operate the systems.
